Our company developed U-BRAIN MicroSmart, which is the world’s smallest and lightest (2 g) 3D motion sensor. Recently the commercialization of wearable devices is underway worldwide. We are trying to approach and work with overseas device makers to promote adoption of our product in these devices. Our business mainly consists of manufacturing electronic devices with embedded gyroscopes and various sensors (for detecting acceleration, geomagnetism, light, sound, temperature). We also develop and produce related software (firmware, middleware, applications) and content.
[Company strength] Our president has applied for more than 40 patents since 2002, when he was still with Sony, and obtained 19 non-exclusive licenses and sublicenses before establishing this company. This is why we do not need to depend on others when we sell or provide products and technologies to other companies concerning development, technology, or rights. The fact that we can freely develop business strategies is a great strength. [Business description] Our business mainly consists of manufacturing electronic devices with embedded gyroscopes and various sensors (acceleration, geomagnetism, light, sound, temperature). We also develop and distribute related software and content. Our president took early retirement from Sony in August 2005, set up our company, and started to develop original products with support from SME Support Japan’s Minato Incubation Center. [Industry] Electronic device manufacturing; information processing [Strength of products/technologies] Our company is proceeding with independent development of U-BRAIN MicroSmart, which is the world’s smallest and lightest (2 g) 3D motion sensor. At the same time our company also develops dedicated middleware and applications in a vertically integrated manner. We have an overwhelming advantage in terms of development, technology, and licensing when it comes to adopting products for various wearable devices that will be commercialized in 2014. We aim to realize a next-generation cloud business and open up a new era. This will be done by incorporating this device into the wearable devices that will distributed worldwide starting in 2014 and connecting them wirelessly with ICT devices.
