Bone conduction has advantages such as easy hearing even under noisy environments and reducing eardrum damage. It is also effective for certain kinds of difficulty in hearing. Many companies sell bone conduction products to help hearing. However, our company develops and markets new bone conduction products to reduce burdens on the eardrums of healthy people and to assist in communications under noisy environments. We have sold about 150,000 units of bone conduction products for music and about 10,000 for communications. We conduct joint research with several universities.

    [Product description] This is a communications set, which consists of a bone conduction earphone and a high-performance microphone. Hearing sounds by vibrations does not excessively tire the ear and does not require headgear. A-hum E has the following features: The earphone unit does not have air holes because it uses bone conduction. This drip-proof unit is strong against sweat and water drops and can be cleaned by wiping with a wet cloth even when it is dirty. Hearing sounds by bone conduction rather than via the eardrum reduces fatigue even after long hours of work. Our company has been developing bone conduction technologies, acquiring patents on bone conduction, and planning and selling products since 2002. We have accumulated experience and knowhow in bone conduction from product development to sales throughout our history. Our bone conduction hearing aid joint product development with Kansai Medical University was selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in its program to develop medical equipment and devices to solve unmet medical needs. This development is now in progress. We are also conducting an industry-university project with Kumamoto University regarding vibrator performance evaluation. We have established cooperative relationships with several universities for technical development by exchanging academic research cases through the Acoustical Society of Japan. We have a human network and cooperative relationships for new product development.

It has been attracting a growing amount of attention. Our company has been disseminating bone conduction in Japan as a pioneer in this field. Our predecessors sold bone conduction products to help people who were having difficulties in hearing. However, our company marketed new bone conduction products to reduce burdens on the eardrums of healthy people and to assist communications under noisy environments. We have sold about 150,000 units of bone conduction products for music and about 10,000 for communications due to our market-development oriented management.

These include less eardrum drum damage and not tiring users. This allows users to communicate or listen to music without covering their ears. These advantages are attracting people as a human-friendly technology. Our basic philosophy is “Making things that please people and contribute to society." We have been brushing ourselves up in planning, developing, and manufacturing bone conduction equipment. Bone conduction is now not limited to Japan. It is spreading widely throughout the world. We will continue to pursue the possibilities of bone conduction one person at a time. We believe that our united hearts will be able to change the world under any circumstances.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We are improving products with the cooperation of Kumamoto University, Kinki University, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya Municipal Industrial Research Institute, and other organizations. This is done to evaluate products and endorse them academically. We are now preparing for the development of a new vibrator to improve vibrator performance and meet an expanding number of future needs. We will take stronger measures to protect intellectual property while considering future overseas expansion. Specifically, we will acquire patents in China and Korea to prevent a flood of pirated copies, and also in Europe and America for distinction from similar products in the market.
