    Our company developed U-BRAIN MicroSmart, which is the world’s smallest and lightest (2 g) 3D motion sensor. Recently the commercialization of wearable devices is underway worldwide. We are trying to approach and work with overseas device makers to promote adoption of our product in these devices. Our business mainly consists of manufacturing electronic devices with embedded gyroscopes and various sensors (for detecting acceleration, geomagnetism, light, sound, temperature). We also develop and produce related software (firmware, middleware, applications) and content.

      [Product description] Showing information on a conventional mobile device has limits. You have to move the menu with a button, or zoom out the image to the size of the display, for example. Our intelligent sensor system solves this problem by fixing the screen on the other side of the display, and moving the display window across the screen. This method enables viewing of a very large screen such as a 2000-inch screen with a 2-inch display. This technology was made possible with a position sensor and a posture sensor inside the small display. The sensors detect changes in the position and inclination of the mobile device, and link the display’s movements with the image on the display window. This makes operation intuitive.       [Product description] The chassis houses the ultra-miniature 3D motion sensor, a Bluetooth unit (version 2.1 plus EDR), and a rechargeable lithium ion battery. This makes it possible to send data continuously from the 15-axis sensor to a distance up to 100 meters away. The data can be received automatically by a computer with our U-BRAIN DSM (middleware) installed, and the data can be processed using a compatible application on the computer. Our measurement software can also automatically handle multiple readings from multiple motion sensor modules. For example, you can put multiple modules all over a single measuring object, or put a single module on multiple measuring objects for simultaneous measurement.       [Product description] Our newly developed U-BRAIN MicroSmart 3D motion sensor is the smallest and lightest (weighs only 2 grams) in the world. However, it consists of a 15-axis sensor (position ×6, posture ×3, direction ×3, light ×1, sound ×1, and temperature ×1) and 5 input/output channels (switchable between input and output). It can wirelessly communicate with computers, smartphones, tablets, or other devices from 100 meters away when incorporated into a wearable device, if combined with Bluetooth, ZigBee, or other similar components. The main features are as follows: (1) Realizes the world’s smallest 15-axis sensor (position ×6, posture ×3, direction ×3, light ×1, sound ×1, and temperature ×1). This is done by mounting on a very small substrate (19 × 20 × 3.8 mm). (2) Assembly on a small substrate has also resulted in realizing the world’s lightest 15-axis sensor (position ×6, posture ×3, direction ×3, light ×1, sound ×1, and temperature ×1). It weighs only 2 grams. (3) The 15-axis sensor (position ×6, posture ×3, direction ×3, light ×1, sound ×1, and temperature ×1) and 5-channel I/O are mounted on the same circuit board. (4) The firmware has a drift compensation function as a standard feature to prevent sensor malfunctions. (5) The sensor can be connected wirelessly from 100 meters away when combined with a wireless unit such as Bluetooth and ZigBee. (6) The world’s smallest and lightest (2 g) substrate also has a power supply USB, a battery connector, and a power switch as standard components. (7) Related firmware and middleware are developed for computers, smartphones, and other devices.       [Product description] 1) Revolutionizing wearables Visualizing three-dimensional positions and posture used to require a complex system configuration. Our U-BRAIN Ring houses a built-in sensor, a wireless unit, and a battery in its ultra-compact body. It does not need anything other than the device it is mounted on (e.g., a computer, tablet, or smartphone). 2) Output signals are pre-processed for the application This ring-type motion sensor pre-processes the signals internally so that the terminal receiving the data can use it in an application without post-processing. This sensor is designed to suit the application. 3) Easy-to-handle, high speed data The combination of a 15-axis sensor module (position, posture, direction, light, sound, temperature, and so on) and a wireless unit realizes centralized control as well as measurement and management.
