We propose unique ventilation systems to save energy in buildings.

Our company plans and designs air conditioning and ventilation equipment to promote energy saving. We are also engaged in manufacturing, sales, and consulting regarding related equipment and materials. We developed the Wind Navi ventilation system, which has realized efficient ventilation even at a low blow rate. This system reduces the consumption of power and other energy as well as operation costs. We make proposals for buildings with higher air pressure inside than outside to prevent incoming dust. We are accumulating achievements in proposing positive-pressure buildings. Our company has patents in Japan and abroad, and experience in joint research and development with the Kyoto Institute of Technology.

[Company strength]
We have been able to reduce average power demand about 30% or 35% on average, and to a maximum of 74%. We succeeded in reducing operation costs and achieved a groundbreaking maximum reduction in power consumption of 58%. Outdoor air can be used effectively when cooling is necessary. We have been able to successfully reduce room temperature by about 10°C. We have an OEM contract with Arima Kogyosho in Osaka for the manufacture of dedicated products and we can manufacture even single products on order. Our products are distributed by our own direct sales. However, we are now in negotiations with an air conditioning company based in Tokyo about a sales tie-up, including design, construction, and manufacturing. This tie-up will be concluded within this year. KOKUSAIEISEI Co., Ltd. based in Tokyo has acknowledged our technology of changing mainly factory internal pressure to positive air pressure to prevent insects and dust. We started a new joint business and are already changing the internal pressure of a factory in Gifu Prefecture to positive air pressure. Our Elenose AS-A for ventilation only was the first of its kind to be certified in Japan by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. It was given certificate number VC-0001 as the only product that has been officially verified to halve ventilation volume in practical use, as specified in the Building Standards Act.

[Business description]
Ordinary buildings use 48% of their energy for air conditioning and ventilation, and 34% of this is lost through ventilation. Most buildings have negative pressure inside, because current ventilation systems are mainly for exhaust purposes. Negative-pressure buildings are affected by outdoor air penetrating through every opening, and their internal temperatures are always linked with outdoor air temperatures. Room cooling or heating consequently reaches a peak when the outdoor air temperature reaches a peak. The simultaneous use of air conditioners boosts power demand. Factories, buildings with kitchens, and smoking rooms, which have a large amount of air volume displacement, lose air conditioning because of the same kind of difficulties. Our company studied a new ventilation method jointly with a university to minimize the volume of air coming into and going out of buildings while maintaining ventilation performance. This is how we developed our Wind Navi system as a forced substitution and ventilation method to artificially produce powerful indoor push-pull air currents flowing toward ventilation ports. We make proposals for power saving, energy saving, and cost reduction based on this new technology to reduce air-conditioning energy attributable to ventilation. Our company is devoted to changing the internal pressures of buildings to positive air pressure to improve the indoor environment by preventing insects, dust, and drafts. We have a track record of proving great power saving, energy saving, and operation cost reduction effects in many cases. Blow rate reduction will allow smaller equipment for treating oil soot, smells, and other harmful components in exhaust. Exhaust reduction has also been proven to greatly reduce processing costs.

[Strength of products/technologies]
Class 1 mechanical ventilation systems (blowers for both incoming and outgoing air) are considered to be appropriate as a ventilation method for buildings that mainly vent air. However, the costs are high, and they cannot maintain a comfortable indoor temperature, humidity, or air current. This is why a third mechanical ventilation system (ventilation by blowing and without forced intake) is generally employed. However, these systems make a building’s internal pressure negative. This results in it being hot in summer and cold in winter, and incoming dust and insects always make the environment filthy. Positive air pressure is the solution for improvement, but it is difficult to achieve without reducing the volume of outgoing air. Our Wind Navi system is a unique technology that reduces the ventilation volume while maintaining the ventilation performance. This system necessitates experience and know-how, which is why our technology is unrivaled.

[Representative's message]
The idea was born in 2000. Our company was founded in 2003, through joint research with Professor Nitta (deceased) at the Kyoto Institute of Technology as a mere provider of technical software. However, we commercialized our original product Elenose in 2008 and promoted its sale mainly to restaurants. The power saving, energy saving, and operation cost reduction effects were proven by our past achievements, but sales did not grow as we expected because of industry practices and human relations. That was when we encountered Sumitomo Rubber Industries, and our product received the top rating as a factory ventilation system after a four-and-a-half-year performance test. This was how we were able to establish the foundation of our business. The electric power supply has been unstable since the Great East Japan Earthquake. Under these circumstances, the need for power saving, energy saving, operation cost reduction, safety and sanitation, and environmental preservation will continue to grow. We intend to take this opportunity to extend the ventilation business for changing air pressure, power saving, and energy saving in Japan and abroad. Our main purpose is to contribute to improving working environments and protect neighboring areas for factories including food, chemical, pharmaceutical, metal treatment, forging, and casting factories.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
YUM! China, which operates KFC in China, did not employ our proposal. Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. now has a plan to employ our factory ventilation system for their factory in China, but they have not implemented it yet. Our in-house system for overseas business is under preparation and not yet ready. We are developing sales channels jointly with KOKUSAIEISEI in Japan. This is to promote sales for safety and sanitation by emphasizing positive pressure in factories to prevent insects, dust, bacteria, and smells, as well as protecting neighboring areas. We have already started work to change the internal pressure of a factory in Gifu Prefecture to positive air pressure and improve their indoor environment. We are now looking for companies that have local sales networks and may consider joint business development with us.
