MICRO VEHICLE LAB., LTD
We manufacture large lithium ion battery modules.
We manufacture large lithium ion batteries from single sets with custom-order voltage and capacity according to the application. We independently develop the protection circuits (BMS) necessary for lithium ion batteries. We can support from 12V to 400V. Our products have been adopted in a prototype EV of a major automobile manufacturer, a smart grid experimental system, a nursing robot, and so on. Our customers include major automobile companies, universities, and research institutes. We are now also making use of SiC to advance development of insulation circuits, DC/DC, and inverters. We are arranging a system to support next-generation energy.
[Company strength] We manufacture battery modules by introducing the latest technology so as to support our customer’s R&D. We design the protection IC that becomes the core element of a BMS by using an LTC6804. We also take part in the power device field by making use of SiC. [Business description] Micro Vehicle Lab has been producing battery packs or modules made of lithium ion batteries since April 2005. They also provide development assistance with electric cars and large robots incorporating high-performance batteries, achieving a mobility of the future that is environmentally friendly. We manufacture large lithium ion battery modules (battery packs). We support manufacturing from a single battery set with custom-order voltage and capacity according to the application. This is done by making use of lithium ion batteries made by a Japanese manufacturer. We independently develop the protection circuits (battery management system: BMS) necessary for lithium ion batteries. We can support from 12V to 400V. We have a track record from 0.5 kWh to 40 kWh. [Industry] Electric appliance manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] (1) We can manufacture battery packs using highly reliable cells directly purchased from a Japanese manufacturer. (2) We independently developed a BMS that can be conveniently used in R&D. (3) We have a wealth of experience because we have participated in many national projects since 2005, from small EV to electric ships. [Representative's message] Ten years have passed since we started to design and manufacture battery packs using large lithium ion batteries according to the voltage and capacity requested by the customer. We have participated in many projects during this time. We have developed a BMS by making use of the latest protection IC. We are also using SiC to develop insulation circuits, DC/DC, and inverters. We emphasize keeping Monozukuri craftsmanship in view, and we work to contribute to next-generation energy by taking good care of the technology of Japanese cell manufacturers and device manufacturers. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] Our President Hiroshi Matsuo is a Visiting Professor at Fukui University, and is continuing with academic activities. He has written a technical book about lithium ion batteries and presented at an international conference (ICFD 2013) held at Tohoku University. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] [Media] [Authorization/Certification] Unified supplier qualification for all government offices (supplier code: 0000147638), valid until March 31, 2016. [Joint research and development] Visiting Professor, Industry-Academia Cooperation HQ, Fukui University. We are participating in the JST Super Cluster Project, Power Electronics.
